The E&I Maintenance Mechanic inspects, tests, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical and instrumentation for production and process equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical equipment of varying voltages, including 0V through 161,000V.
- Maintain electrical equipment such as motors, starters, breakers, transformers, isolation switches, relays, fuses, resistors, air conditioning, valves, AC drives, DC drives, electrical cable, fiber optic cable, coaxial cable, conduit, receptacles, PLCs, heaters, control panels, lights, lighting panels, cranes, lift devices, distributive controls, UPS, fire & emergency alarms, turbine controls, disposal of bulbs and hazardous material, shutters on nuclear devices, cable trays, and ground precipitators.
- Maintain electronic equipment including power supplies, inverters, rectifiers, transistors, amplifiers, capacitors, inductors, diodes, resistors, and soldering.
- Maintain instrumentation equipment such as transmitters, valves, I/P, positioners, actuators, dampers, flow meters, tubing, O2, pH, conductivity, RTD, thermocouple, infrared, 412 monitors, H2S monitors, SO2 monitors, and continuous emissions monitoring.
- Learn and operate test equipment: multimeter, amp meter, wigey, oscilloscope, megohmmeter, tic trace, hot sticks, wave generator, chart recorder, Hart communicator, transmation, hi‑pot unit, dry block calibrator, dead weight tester, magnetic flow simulator.
- Learn and operate computer software: Windows, Microsoft Office, Passport, SAP, Automax, RSLogix (or other PLC software), DBDock, PI Datalink, Multilin, Outlook.
- Operate equipment such as cranes (mobile and stationary), fork trucks, and other lifting devices.
- Perform miscellaneous labor tasks including cutting and pushing broke, cleaning equipment, cleaning floors (sweeping, mopping, or washing), painting, and emptying trash containers.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures & NFPA 70E policy.
- Have annual CPR training and mill annual safety training.
- Respond to calls from production or maintenance timely, participate as a fire brigade member, attend weekly production safety meetings, and communicate issues through email and shift log.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age.
