Job summary

Zachry Group is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Estimator to prepare budgets for E&I equipment and commodities. You will develop accurate project estimates, read construction drawings, and use InEight Estimate to support procurement decisions.

Qualifications

• Compile material and labor take-offs and solicit pricing from vendors.
• Understand estimate types (Lump Sum, T&M, Fixed Fee, Budgetary, Unit Rates)
• Interact with customers, vendors and inter-company personnel professionally
• Ability to work in a group and share knowledge
• Manage multiple tasks, projects and priorities
• Strong knowledge of computers and experience with MS Excel/Word
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under tight time restraints
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Willingness to travel for bid meetings and site visits (1–2 days)
• High School or equivalent education + field experience

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Develop preliminary or definitive estimates for electrical & instrumentation installation using company software/spreadsheets.
• Organize and compile drawings and documents for project development.
• Prepare detailed material take-offs, perform historical trend analysis and validate bills of quantities.
• Understand cost and productivity experience and develop cost comparison recommendations.
• Incorporate labor and material cost decisions into the estimate.
• Prepare quote scope solicitations for material and subcontracts to support procurement.
• Evaluate scope of work and factors impacting scope from bid documents.
• Use InEight Estimate and MS Office to analyze data and prepare recommendations.
• Perform other duties to support project development and ongoing jobs.
• Travel for bid meetings and site visits as needed.
