Job summary

GILLIG's Colorado Technical Center in Loveland, CO seeks an experienced E/E Systems Engineering Manager to lead a team of about 5 engineers in designing, integrating, and delivering electrical architectures for next‑gen zero‑emission transit buses.

You will own E/E processes, drive DFMEA, support DVP&R, and ensure designs meet safety, quality, and cost targets while collaborating with cross‑functional teams in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years in the engineering field with automotive/heavy‑duty design experience.
• Experience with suppliers, testing and product validation.
• Proven leadership of an engineering team.
• DFM/DFS and cost‑efficient design experience.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting, prototyping, testing and validation.
• Electrical design fundamentals and power distribution knowledge.
• AC/DC distribution, circuit protection, load calculations.
• High‑voltage and low‑voltage harness design experience.
• Zuken E3 harness/schematic design experience.
• Familiarity with SAE/USCAR‑21; automotive components knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage E/E Systems team processes, including automated QA.
• Champion E/E Systems requirements across the engineering org.
• Lead SCRUM activities; plan, track, and report tasks with Jira.
• Create statements of work with contractors and vendors.
• Lead team operations and perform reviews of direct reports.
• Interpret customer requirements and map to designs.
• Own E/E design in Zuken E3 from schematic to harness release.
• Oversee harness integration and end‑to‑end release management.
• Facilitate design reviews to meet standards and assess risk.
• Lead DFMEA and support DVP&R testing and root‑cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot with on‑site or field service teams.
