Description
Who We Are
Legendary Holdings is a global multi-brand apparel and consumer products company selling across multiple marketplaces. Unlike many businesses, we run the full engine—from product development and marketing to fulfillment and delivery. We’re one of the fastest-growing privately held companies you’ve probably never heard of… but you’ve definitely heard of our brands.
For 25+ years, we’ve built something rare: a people-first environment that’s fast-moving, culturally strong, and genuinely fun. We’re not owned by private equity, we’re not slowed down by red tape, and we’re not interested in “good enough.” We know the customer. We build the assortment. We win—together.
Position Overview
We are seeking a customer-focused and retail-minded E-Commerce Merchant to help drive the growth of our e-commerce business. This role will own the online assortment and bring a strong understanding of the customer, product, and marketplace to decisions around what we sell, how we present it, and when we introduce it.
The E-Commerce Merchant should have a strong retail instinct — knowing what the customer wants, recognizing trends, understanding why products sell, and identifying opportunities within the assortment. This person will use both business performance and consumer insights to make smart merchandising decisions and ensure we are offering the right product, in the right colors and sizes, at the right time.
Merchants are the bridge between the customer, the business, and product creation. This role will work closely with Product Designers, Marketing, Sales, Planning, and Operations, while partnering directly with the eCommerce Sr. Director on consumer insights, helping turn what we learn about the customer into better product and assortment decisions.
Requirements
- Own the e-commerce assortment, ensuring we have the right mix of products, styles, colors, and sizes for our customers.
- Ultimately responsible for the health of the total online assortment, including but not limited to meeting revenue targets, hitting margin goals, and maximizing productivity through the lifecycle of the product.
- Use strong retail and product instinct to identify what is working, what is missing, and where we have opportunities to grow.
- Understand what customers are searching for, clicking on, buying, and passing over, and use those insights to improve the assortment.
- Review sales and product performance to identify winners, underperformers, trends, and opportunities.
- Make thoughtful product recommendations based on customer needs, trends, product performance, and the overall assortment.
- Identify opportunities in color, size, style, and product offerings based on customer demand and selling patterns.
- Build and maintain a clear Good / Better / Best assortment that gives customers the right choices across price points and product benefits.
- Own the newness cadence, ensuring customers have a consistent flow of new and relevant products throughout the year.
- Partner on the E-Commerce Slot Plan, helping determine which products should receive the most visibility and attention online.
- Partner with the eCommerce Sr. Director on consumer insights, bringing customer learnings into assortment, product, and merchandising decisions.
- Help connect customer feedback and shopping behavior to future product creation, identifying opportunities for new products, features, colors, and styles.
- Stay close to the marketplace and competitive landscape to understand what customers are responding to and where the market is moving.
- Partner with Designers and Product Development to bring merchandise assortments to life.
- Regularly review business performance and use insights to adjust the assortment and improve sales.
- Develop a strong understanding of the customer and continuously look for ways to make the online assortment more relevant, compelling, and easier to shop.
- Forecasting financial revenue goals and margin targets and are expected to meet goals.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in e-commerce merchandising, retail buying, product merchandising, or a related field.
- Strong retail instinct and product sensibility with an understanding of what makes a product compelling to the customer.
- Naturally curious about why customers buy, what they want next, and how products perform.
- Strong understanding of assortment planning and the ability to recognize opportunities within a product line.
- Comfortable using sales and customer information to support decisions, but does not rely solely on data to make merchandising decisions.
- Ability to connect the dots between the customer, product, and business.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong sense of ownership and ability to make decisions and recommendations independently.
- Experience with Amazon or other high-volume e-commerce businesses is strongly preferred.
- In-office availability to work.
