The Finish Line, Inc. is seeking an E-commerce Fraud Manager to lead the Profit & Asset Protection team in minimizing fraud and chargebacks.
You will build dashboards, perform cross-functional analyses, and guide strategic decisions to maximize sales while protecting margins. You will champion partnerships across internal units and with retailers to share threat intelligence, mitigate fraud vectors, and advance industry best practices.
The E-Commerce Fraud Manager supports the Profit & Asset Protection team to minimize ecommerce fraud and chargebacks. This role requires a strategic leader who is innovative for the future of the fast-paced payments industry and stays on the absolute forefront of new, complex fraud models.
Some of the main duties include: Develops dashboards and KPI reporting for multiple cross functional areas of the business, including but not limited to merchandising, supply chain, finance, and e-commerce. Analyzes both internal and external payment/fraud performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis and compares to service level agreements. Makes recommendations to cross-functional business groups to prevent fraud and decrease loss to the company. Champions crucial cross-functional partnerships not only with internal business units but also with other retailers to share threat intelligence, combat fraud rings, and established industry best practices. Performs in-depth analysis to show the success of payments versus the incidence of chargebacks with current state and potential state solutions. Goal is to maximize sales while minimizing chargebacks. Proposes enhancements to existing proprietary and third party algorithms and analytics processes, develops prototypes, and conducts comparative performance studies. Anticipates and mitigates fraud trends impacting high-demand products in the competitive reseller market, such as automated bots during limited release events, inventory abuse, and Buy Online, Pick-up In-Store (BOPIS) fraud. Present a variety of technical topics to both technical and non-technical business partners. Builds constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of business partners Works in tandem with the Loyalty Team to reduce fraud. Additional projects and duties as required.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or equivalent experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to Five years in a fraud/risk ecommerce position.
The candidate must have prior management experience of at least two direct reports.
Should have advanced knowledge and abilities with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, or Google Suite equivalents.
Must be an effective communicator with internal and external individuals at all levels. This includes spoken, written, electronic, and presentation skills. Communication should be consistently constructive and professional. Must be a good team player. Able to maintain the highest standards when it comes to handling highly sensitive, private, and confidential materials. Demonstrates sound judgment and effective critical thinking skills.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Uses specialized knowledge to go beyond the routine to solve complex problems that frequently affect areas beyond own functional area. Must be able to approach unfamiliar situations, projects, and opportunities with confidence and curiosity. Must demonstrate strict attention to detail and intensity around consistently delivering a high quality work product. Able to concisely summarize the results of business analysis and explain the meaning of the results and implications in varying levels of detail, depending on the audience. Must be able to work on multiple projects at one time with appropriate prioritization. Decisions generally involve moderately complex issues with a limited number of variables.
A proven ability to adapt to the fast-paced evolution of digital wallets, alternative payment methods, and sophisticated attack vectors to ensure the company remains ahead of the curve. Familiarity with Machine Learning/AI fraud models and exposure to Agentic Checkout are strongly preferred.
