Job summary

The Archdiocese of San Antonio is seeking a full-time Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) to join the Special Education team and report to the Executive Director of Special Education. The role focuses on training teachers, monitoring dyslexia program fidelity, developing K-3 screening protocols, and providing professional development and dyslexia services as needed.

Candidates must hold a CALT and Texas teaching certification, with at least 3 years of dyslexia intervention experience,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in education/reading or related field.
• Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT).
• Texas Teacher Certification (or eligible).
• Reliable transportation and valid driver license.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience teaching with at least 2 years' experience in reading/dyslexia intervention.

Responsibilities

• Train archdiocesan teachers on dyslexia programs (Take Flight, Reading by Design, or similar).
• Monitor fidelity of reading program at each campus.
• Monitor progress of dyslexia students across the archdiocese.
• Maintain a database of students who qualify for dyslexia.
• Provide professional development on dyslexia strategies for teachers.
• Conduct parent training sessions on dyslexia awareness and home-based intervention.
