Test Technician, I - Dearborn, Michigan (NIGHTSHIFT)

We are seeking a talented Test Technician, I responsible for operating dynamometers and conducting tests to gather data ensuring it meets customer specifications.

Night Shift: Mon-Thur 5:30PM-4:30AM

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Set up mechanical, hydraulic, or electric test equipment according to specifications and procedures.
  2. Ensure fixtures for parts, measurements, and images are appropriate and validated.
  3. Monitor test equipment to ensure proper operation.
  4. Ensure accuracy and completeness of test results.
  5. Inspect parts for defects or malfunctions.
  6. Document and report defects or malfunctions.
  7. Record test results using appropriate tools.
  8. Prepare test parts, including mapping rotors and brake pads.
  9. Assist with setup and teardown of test equipment.
  10. Maintain safety standards during all tasks.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Associate of Science in Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
  • High school diploma required.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in an automotive engineering lab or similar.
  • Coursework in digital electronics, circuits, and electronics preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Practical knowledge of Engineering Science and Technology applications.
  • Analytical, observant, and effective communication skills.
  • Problem-solving ability.
  • Computer proficiency.
Physical Requirements:
  • Hands-on work in a testing environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, standing, etc.
  • English speaking and reading ability.
  • Corrective lenses for vision.
  • Hearing ability.
  • Ability to travel domestically up to 10%.
