Job summary

Young Automotive Group in Missoula, MT is seeking an Engine Tuner / Dyno Operator to tune and optimize engine performance using dynamometer equipment. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to safely extract maximum performance while maintaining reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine tuning and/or dyno operation preferred.
• Knowledge of EFI systems, fuel mapping, and forced induction systems.
• Familiarity with tuning platforms (Power Vision, ECU flashing, standalone systems, etc.).
• Strong understanding of engine performance principles.
• Ability to read data logs and make informed adjustments.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on consistency and safety.
• Able to pass a background-check and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Operate chassis dynamometer safely and efficiently.
• Tune engines using aftermarket tuning software (fuel, ignition, boost, etc.).
• Analyze data logs and make precise adjustments for optimal performance.
• Work closely with the engine builder and service team on performance builds.
• Diagnose drivability and performance issues.
• Maintain dyno equipment and ensure safe operating procedures.
