Job summary

EPAM Systems Inc is seeking an experienced DynamoDB Engineer to lead a multi-region migration and establish robust disaster recovery for hyperscale NoSQL workloads. You will design and migrate DynamoDB tables across AWS regions, implement Global Tables, and develop an active-active foundation with Terraform/CDK (TypeScript).

You will work with application teams, author IaC, and ensure observability and runbooks.

Qualifications

• Production-grade Terraform for DynamoDB resources and state management.
• Baseline AWS CDK + TypeScript familiarity for IaC.
• Deep DynamoDB expertise in data modeling and keys.
• Experience with Global Tables and cross-region replication.
• Design and tune GSIs/LSIs and capacity planning.
• Implement PITR, backups, and cross-region recovery testing.
• Nice to have DynamoDB Streams and Lambda triggers.
• Scripting in Python for automation.

Responsibilities

• Multi-Region DynamoDB migration and DR setup across regions.
• Model data and access patterns for sub-millisecond performance.
• Author production-grade IaC with Terraform and CDK (TypeScript).
• Plan capacity and auto-scaling for tables and GSIs.
• Validate PITR, backups, and cross-region recovery readiness.
• Establish monitoring, alarms, and runbooks for DR drills.
