Job summary

Element U.S. Space & Defense is headquartered in California and leads groundbreaking testing for NASA, the DoD, and other space and defense programs. This role focuses on designing and overseeing Dynamics tests while ensuring data quality and actionable results for programs.

Salary

At EUSSD, compensation is determined through a comprehensive approach that considers candidate qualifications, role responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational needs. Pay may vary by location; for this position, the annual base salary target range is $86,000 - $96,0000/yr, with potential eligibility for bonuses or commission depending on the role.


Position Summary

Designs and oversees Dynamics tests and captures the resulting data. Dynamics: The branch of mechanics that deals with motion of systems under action of forces usually from outside the system.


Core Responsibilities


  • Test Design - Use Engineering principles to design test procedures and specifications based on Customer SOWs and Test Standards

  • Perform Testing - Provide SME support to Technicians as tests are conducted. Ensure that all necessary data is captured. May also run tests themselves

  • Data Processing - After test completion, review and interpret test data. Communicate findings to Program Manager and/or client

  • Other - Perform other duties as assigned


Core Requirements


  • Normally receives detailed instructions on all work. Regular supervision usually under the direction of the Chief Engineer and/or Department Manager.

  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action

  • Regular interaction with clients. Builds stable working relationships internally

  • General understanding, interpretation and analysis of test results

  • Foundational understanding of engineering principles; good understanding of data interpretation, testing and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Dynamics principles; knowledge of all potential aspects of safety

  • Strong mathematical skills, able to design and use all standard testing equipment


Minimum Education And Experience


  • BS in Engineering

  • 0-3 Years of Experience


Working Conditions

Test lab with exposure to sudden, loud noises


Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
