Job description

Summary

The Dynamics 365 F&O Developer is responsible for the design, development, customization, and code management of Sarnova’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance & Supply Chain. This role serves as the primary technical engineer for the ERP — building custom extensions, integrations, and enhancements that meet business needs, while owning code promotion, source control, and the release pipeline across environments. This role partners closely with functional analysts, business stakeholders, and other technology teams to translate business requirements into robust, supportable solutions.

Organizational Impact

This role is critical to ensuring the stability, scalability, and continuous enhancement of Sarnova’s core ERP platform, directly enabling efficient financial, supply chain, and operational processes across the organization. By owning development standards, integrations, and the release pipeline, the Dynamics 365 F&O Developer helps reduce system downtime, improve data accuracy, and accelerate delivery of business-critical functionality. Additionally, this role drives long‑term technology sustainability by enforcing best practices, improving system performance, and enabling the business to adapt quickly to evolving operational needs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy custom extensions, modifications, and enhancements within Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain using X++ and the D365 F&O development framework, ensuring alignment with architectural standards, scalability, and long‑term maintainability
  • Serve as the technical lead for ERP development initiatives, providing architectural guidance, reviewing solution designs, and ensuring consistency with best practices across all customizations and integrations
  • Build and maintain integrations between the ERP and other enterprise systems using data entities, OData, custom services, the Business Events framework, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and similar Microsoft Azure technologies
  • Own code promotion across development, test, UAT, and production environments — managing branches, builds, and releases through Azure DevOps, Lifecycle Services (LCS), and source control best practices
  • Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in D365 F&O, including custom code, performance problems, batch jobs, and integration failures; participate in an on‑call rotation for production support
  • Partner with functional analysts and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs, providing effort estimates, design alternatives, and trade‑offs, while owning end‑to‑end solution design and ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and cross‑system impacts
  • Lead and facilitate technical design sessions, ensuring alignment between business needs, system capabilities, and architectural standards
  • Perform peer code reviews, enforce coding standards, and contribute to a culture of quality, supportability, and continuous improvement, , including mentoring other developers and providing guidance on design, troubleshooting, and best practices
  • Support deployments, release management, and post‑release stabilization, ensuring system uptime and prompt resolution of issues, while continuously identifying opportunities to streamline and improve release processes
  • Act as a technical owner for the D365 F&O platform, helping to establish and enforce development standards, governance practices, and system best practices across the ERP ecosystem
  • Identify opportunities to enhance platform performance, scalability, and maintainability, proactively recommending improvements and contributing to the ERP technology roadmap
  • Ensure that all customizations and integrations consider enterprise‑wide impacts, including data integrity, upstream/downstream dependencies, and alignment with broader application architecture
  • Maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and operational runbooks for custom development
  • Additional job duties as assigned
