Job summary

Equitas Academy Charter Schools seeks a dynamic Visual or Performing Arts Teacher dedicated to cultivating a love of art in students. You will lead rigorous arts instruction across dance, theater, music, or visual arts and develop your class curriculum.

You will collaborate with families on student progress and maintain high expectations while using culturally responsive practices. The role includes daily prep, weekly PD, and regular coaching meetings in a diverse school community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Current Single Subject teaching credential (internship, preliminary, or clear), or Multiple Subject credential (preliminary or clear) or out of state equivalent.
• English Learner Authorization.
• Strong belief that all students can succeed.
• Demonstrated experience with scholars in underserved communities (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead rigorous instruction in the arts (dance, theater, music, or visual arts).
• Develop the vision and curriculum for your class.
• Communicate with families regarding behavior and academic progress.
• Maintain high academic and behavioral expectations.
• Demonstrate warm demander style with scholars in your classroom and school community.
• Approach class community building with culturally responsive and restorative practices.
• Start your day by 7:30am (middle school) or 8:10am (high school) and end at 3:30pm (middle) or 4:10pm (high).
• Daily prep time and a duty-free lunch period.
• Weekly collaborative enrichment team meeting.
• Regular 1:1 meetings with your coach.
• Supervise portions of Community Meeting every other Friday.
• Deliver and supervise scholar assessments.
• Active participation in weekly professional development.
• Perform other duties to support scholars and school community.
