Ascent Classical Academy of Grand Junction seeks a Part-Time Upper School Math and Science Teacher to join our rigorous program. The role focuses on high standards, classical pedagogy, and engaging students in mathematics and science.

The successful candidate will prepare unit and lesson plans, teach, assess, and communicate with parents weekly, while upholding the academy's mission and core virtues in a supportive, student-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and Praxis in the subject area required.
• Bachelor's degree in the subject taught preferred; 36 hours in subject area may suffice.
• Ability to teach upper level mathematics and science.
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written).

Responsibilities

• Prepare unit and lesson plans aligned with Hillsdale College's K12 Program Guide for each school year.
• Teach and mentor students using classical pedagogy methods.
• Collaborate with Students Services team to meet requirements of special educational plans (IEPs, 504s).
• Communicate regularly, usually weekly, with parents.
• Maintain confidentiality in student records.
