Job summary
KOAT in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a News Editor to cover assigned stories with a sharp eye for visual storytelling and strong writing paired with compelling pictures and sound.
You will edit stories, videos and newscasts under tight deadlines, collaborate with producers, reporters and managers, and maintain media archives and standards for edited material. You will operate nonlinear editors and ENG/SNG feeds to deliver high-quality segments.
Qualifications
- Experience editing video for newscasts.
- Proficiency with Premiere and other editors.
- Ability to juggle multiple deadlines under pressure.
- Knowledge of current video production techniques.
- Familiarity with media law and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Edit stories, videos, and newscasts on tight deadlines
- Maintain news archives
- Operate electronic newsgathering equipment
- Nonlinear editing using Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Avid and Edius for PKGs, VOs, VOSOTs, opens, teases and preproduction material
- Collaborate with producers, reporters and managers to produce high-quality stories
- Ensure storage and organization of media files
- Maintain standards for all edited material
- Taking in ENG and SNG feeds
- Any other editing responsibilities as assigned by news managers
