Job summary

City of Fresno is seeking a Recreation Specialist to plan, organize, and conduct specialized recreation and community service activities, such as music, sports, arts, and senior citizen programs. The incumbent will work under supervision, coordinating with the Community Recreation Supervisor to deliver targeted programs.

The position requires at least one year of experience and a high school diploma or GED with sixty college units in related fields.

Qualifications

One year experience planning and implementing recreation or community service programs.
Additional qualifying experience may substitute the required college education on a year for year basis.
Additional college units in related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year for year basis.
If qualifying with a degree or transcripts, attach copy of degree or transcripts.
CPR and First Aid certificates are required within 90 days of date of hire.
Possession of a valid California Driver's License may be required; provide driving record.
Selected applicants will be referred to the hiring department for further consideration and must pass a Department interview, DOJ fingerprinting, and TB clearance.
