Job summary

CREC Academy of International Studies in the United States seeks a creative, high energy middle school technology teacher (grades 6-8) to lead robotics and coding activities and to integrate engineering concepts into daily learning. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor\'s in Education and a PK-12 certification in Technology Education; a Master\'s degree is preferred.

Prior teaching experience at middle school level is desirable and strong classroom management is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Certification area: 047 Technology Education, PK-12.
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers technology education curriculum aligned with district goals and objectives.
• Teaches mechanics, drafting, electricity, electronics, metalwork, graphic arts, woodworking, or related fields.
• Designs learning activities to demonstrative the application of technical skills to everyday existence; guides students in the selection of projects or experiments.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for Technology Education, and translates lesson plans into learning experiences to develop pertinent sequential assignments, challenge students, and best utilize the available time for instruction.
• Conducts ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modifies instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs; conducts individual and small group instruction as needed.
