Job summary

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation is seeking a Prime Time Teaching Assistant for W.D. Richards Elementary in Columbus, Indiana.

Under supervision, you will support certified staff and students to meet instructional goals across reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer skills. You will work with students individually and in small groups, assist with tests and materials, help with behavior management, and supervise non-instructional activities such as lunch, bus, and field

Qualifications

• Assist certified staff to meet instructional goals.
• Support students with reading, language arts, and math.
• Maintain student records and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning.
• Assist with administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests, and assessments.
• Prepare instructional materials and reinforce instructional content.
• Assist with record-keeping procedures to document student progress.
• Support classroom behavior management to maintain a safe, orderly environment.
• Supervise non-instructional areas (lunch, bus duty, playground, corridors, study hall).
• Chaperone field trips to assist with supervision.
• Assist with parent contact to foster involvement in education.
• Support students with disabilities to maximize inclusion and participation in classroom activities.
• Participate in IEP processes as needed.
