Job summary

Mesabi Fit Coalition is seeking a dedicated Swimming Instructor to coach groups or individuals in swimming fundamentals and safety. You will plan practice sessions, monitor safety, and provide encouragement to swimmers of different skill levels.

The role involves evaluating progress, adapting coaching methods, and maintaining records. Relevant certifications and a year of aquatic experience are required, with ongoing development of techniques and knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least one year of aquatic experience.
• Certification: ARC Water Safety Certificate or Lifeguard Certification, CPR, and First Aid Certification.

Responsibilities

• Instruct groups or individuals in the fundamentals of swimming.
• Provide training direction, encouragement, and motivation to swimmers.
• Plan, organize, and conduct practice sessions.
• Explain and enforce safety rules and regulations.
• Monitor the swimming area and respond to emergencies.
• Evaluate swimmers' skills and performance.
• Adjust coaching techniques based on swimmers' strengths and weaknesses.
• Stay updated on changes in rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to swimming.
• Communicate with participants and parents to provide information and answer questions.
• Keep and review records of swimmers' progress.
