Job summary

The Sandra and Leon Levine Jewish Community Center is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor to provide safe, quality instruction in group, private, and camp settings. You will work under the Aquatics Director, prepare lesson plans, maintain records, and ensure student safety at all times.

Candidates should hold YMCA/Red Cross Lifesaving and CPR/First Aid certifications, be able to work at least two days per week, and demonstrate strong communication and teamwork in a first-class facility in

• Communication and tactful interaction with participants of varying abilities.
• Ability to design and follow structured lesson plans.
• Strong verbal communication to project voice across distances.
• Maintain records of attendance and progress for each class.
• Knowledge of safety rules and emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administer swim lessons in group, private, and camp settings.
• Prepare and follow lesson plans for assigned classes.
• Maintain attendance and skill records for each class.
• Evaluate swimmers and issue certificates at course end.
• Record hours and manage class logistics.
• Provide a courteous, collaborative environment with staff.
