Job summary

The Academy of St. Matthias - Lanham Maryland is seeking a Substitute Teacher for the 2026-27 school year to cover grades PreK3 through Grade 8. The role reports to the Principal and offers an hourly rate of $20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Understanding of appropriate teaching methods for students in the corresponding grade level
• Willlingness and ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds with varying abilities
• Capability to organize tasks and manage time effectively
• Effective communication with students, including sensitive topics
• Familiarity with assistive technologies, internet and email systems, as well as word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software
• Knowledge of technology and their use in instruction to enhance student learning
• Proficiency in using various office and video equipment
