Job summary

Academy of St. Matthias the Apostle in Lanham, Maryland is seeking Substitute Teachers for the 2026–27 school year. The hourly pay rate is $20 per hour, with responsibilities including following lesson plans and maintaining a safe, positive classroom environment for Pre-K through Grade 8.

Qualifications

• Understanding of appropriate teaching methods for students in the corresponding grade level
• Willingness to work with students of diverse backgrounds and varying abilities
• Ability to organize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines; manage both small and large groups
• Familiarity with assistive technologies, internet and email systems, as well as word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software
• Knowledge of technology and its use in instruction to enhance student learning
• Proficiency in using various office and video equipment
