Starting ASAP, this as-needed position involves delivering prepared lesson plans, maintaining classroom routines, and supporting student learning while upholding district policies and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Operation of computer and technology ancillaries.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Laws, rules and statutory regulations related to assigned activities.
• Policies and objectives of assigned program and activities.
• Determine appropriate action within clearly defined guidelines.
• Work independently with little direction.
• Meet schedules and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Report to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival at the school.
• Maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
• Teach lesson plans outlined by the absent teacher.
• Perform all extra duties for the absent teacher as required by the principal.
• Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning for the students.
• Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Maintain accurate records as required by law and policy.
• Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student life.
• Continuously improve professional competence and collaboration with colleagues.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on staff committees.
• Promote public relations for the school's programs and activities.
• Communicate with parents about unusual occurrences or events.
• Remain at school during the day unless excused.
• Follow all rules and policies adopted by the School Board and SBDM.
• Maintain professional appearance and integrate technology into tasks.
• Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and punctuality.
