Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Michigan teaching certification or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ability to develop and maintain a professional rapport with students, parents, staff, and the community.
• Clear criminal history check is required.
• Board may consider alternatives to the above qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Fill in for an absent regular teacher using district-approved lesson plans.
• Leave a detailed daily report for the absent teacher, including instructions and student interactions.
• Follow teacher-directed classroom management plans and district policies.
• Model ethics and professionalism; implement policy changes from administration or Board actions.
• Demonstrate ability to meet multiple demands and interact with students, families and staff.
• Perform duties including physical tasks and lifting up to 50 lbs when required.
