East Wake Academy in Zebulon, North Carolina is seeking a dependable Substitute Teacher to join our team immediately. You will support teachers by delivering curriculum, managing classroom activities, and promoting a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, a preferred Bachelor’s in Teaching, and strong communication and organizational skills. This is a part-time, on-site position with opportunities to train and contribute to student success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Teaching preferred.
• EWA Substitute Training Attendee.
• Detail oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the curriculum and lesson plans assigned by the regular teacher.
• Follow procedures and achieve lesson goals.
• Assign and explain classwork/homework.
• Oversee students outside of the classroom including in the hallways and transitioning between classes.
• Take attendance and document daily notes.
• Ensure classroom and work is kept clean and orderly.
• Compile a report for the teacher for when he/she returns.
