Responsibilities

• In the absence of the regular teacher: Teaches skills utilizing course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities
• Supervises pupils in classroom and maintains standards of pupil behavior
• Adapts material and methods to develop assignments that guide pupils
• Adapts the curriculum for individual, small group or remedial instruction
• Encourages pupils to think independently and express original ideas
• Communicates with parents on pupil progress
• Participates in curriculum and other developmental programs
• Maintains professional competence through in-service activities
