Job summary

District 148 in Illinois seeks qualified substitute teachers. Must hold a valid IL Substitute Teaching License or other ISBE-approved credential and be registered in ELIS prior to employment. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree or higher and be prepared to complete district onboarding and fingerprint/background checks.

Short-Term licenses may be considered; strong classroom management is a plus. Daily rate is $160 for day-to-day substitutes, with $200 per day for long-term assignments

Qualifications

Must hold a valid Illinois Substitute Teaching License or other qualifying Illinois educator license.
License must be valid and properly registered in ELIS before employment.
Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
Short-Term Substitute Teaching License may be considered subject to ISBE requirements.
Complete district onboarding and pre-employment requirements.
Authorized fingerprint-based background checks and offender-database checks.
Ability to follow teacher lesson plans and school procedures.
Maintain confidentiality regarding students, staff, and district information.
