Job summary

The Archdiocese of Chicago is seeking dependable Substitute Teachers to support our faculty across Early Childhood through 8th grade, in a large Catholic school system across Cook and Lake Counties.

You will monitor students, follow lesson plans, maintain a positive classroom environment, and communicate with parents and staff. A Bachelor's degree, remote teaching experience, and valid state licensure are required; 1–3 years of teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a comparable field required.
• Experience teaching through remote learning platforms preferred.
• Valid state teaching licensure (out-of-state licenses accepted) needed.
• 1 to 3 years teaching experience preferred.
• Highschool graduation required.

Responsibilities

• Implement regularly scheduled lesson plans and follow directions from the principal or staff when plans are not provided.
• Maintain a clean, respectful, and orderly classroom and follow school procedures.
• Keep attendance records and notes on inquiries and incidents.
• Follow and enforce classroom and school policies and procedures.
• Ensure the safety of students.
• Work with a diverse student population across all grade levels.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, administrators, and others.
• Actively support the mission of the school.
