Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in dance or equivalent; master's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of professional experience in the performing arts.
• 2+ years teaching dance including ballet, jazz, tap.
• Strong classroom management and ability to motivate students.
• Choreography experience in professional/educational theatre.

Responsibilities

• Develops school performing arts curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives.
• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials for performing arts instruction.
• Teaches movement, drama, dance, and choreography.
• Plans and presents performances to exhibit pupils' work.
• Maintains records, grading, and reporting of student activities.
• Communicates with students and parents about progress and expectations.
• Coordinates with other staff and participates in meetings.
• Attends seminars/workshops for professional development.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by administration.
