Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking a Substitute - Educational Assistant I for Stone Mountain Elementary. This role provides support to teachers, assists with instructional materials, and helps maintain a safe classroom environment.

Responsibilities include helping students individually or in groups, reporting incidents to staff, and performing clerical tasks. First Aid & CPR certification is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Provides assistance to teachers in working with students, clerical tasks, and other functions.
• Supports students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
• Maintains classroom materials and files to ensure availability and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clerical tasks to assist teachers with instructional materials.
• Report observations and incidents relevant to students to instructional/administrative staff.
• Mediate student conflicts to help maintain a safe learning environment.
• Administer basic first aid for immediate health care needs.
• Assist students with lesson assignments and teachers with classroom tasks.
• Monitor groups of students in various settings to provide a positive learning space.
