Job summary

Manhattan Youth is seeking several part-time After-school Teachers/Activities Specialists to join our dedicated team for the 2025-2026 school year.

We are seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to lead our STEM and general science enrichment activities across a range of topics, including coding, video game design, lego robotics, engineering activities, science olympiad, math team, and elementary school science.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience with elementary or middle school students.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of STEM topics and hands-on learning.
• Experience with educational technology instruction.
• Ability to build positive relationships with families, students and coworkers.
• Proactive problem-solver and team player.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to work at multiple sites as needed.
• Commitment to positive behavioral approaches.

Responsibilities

• Design program curriculum with Education Directors.
• Create lesson plans aligned with class descriptions.
• Lead engaging, student-centered, project-based activities.
• Plan and prepare materials for daily schedule.
• Model core values and promote a supportive classroom community.
• Collaborate with staff and participate in meetings and training.
• Ensure student safety during activities and field trips.
• Adapt to NYC DOE schedule and multi-site needs.
