Job summary

Santa Monica Family YMCA is seeking a Sports Instructor to plan, lead, and supervise youth and adult sport activities, including basketball, clinics, and games. You will prepare courts, set up equipment, and maintain safety protocols while coaching and supporting participants.

The role requires 18+ and at least 6 months of organized sports experience, with CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 30 days of hire. Experience in basketball, pickleball, or volleyball is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum 6+ months experience in organized youth and adult sports.
• Experience in Basketball, Pickleball, and/or Volleyball preferred.
• CPR/AED and First Aid Certification from an approved organization within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, lead, and supervise youth and adult sport practices, clinics, and games.
• Prepare courts, set up equipment, and break down after activities.
• Maintain sports equipment and ensure a safe playing environment.
• Coaching and overseeing activities; act as score keeper when required.
• Attend staff meetings and communicate with parents, volunteers, and participants.
• Model YMCA values and promote positive relationships across staff and participants.
