Qualifications

• Master's degree required in speech communication or related field.
• Evidence of effective public speaking and communications teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
• Willingness to participate in recruitment activities for the Speech Communication area of study and the Department in general.
• Maintain confidentiality in a student-centered environment.
• Follow written and oral instructions accurately, be attentive to detail, and work independently.
• Ability to collaborate with staff, faculty, and HutchCC stakeholders and possess excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach in-person courses in speech and communication-related areas (Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication).
• Travel to various high school locations for assignments; some off-site or online teaching may be required.
• Plan, implement and sponsor instructional activities; assist in curriculum development and assessment data entry.
• Maintain records, attend to attendance, and comply with HutchCC policies.
• Participate in faculty development opportunities and potentially mentor students or sponsor clubs.
