BRCC is seeking a Speech Communication Instructor in Baton Rouge to deliver high-quality instruction in public speaking, interpersonal communication, and oral skills. You will collaborate with the Liberal Arts department to design courses, assess learning outcomes, and integrate Canvas into classroom delivery.

The role requires a Master’s in speech or related field and college teaching experience, with responsibilities spanning teaching, advising, curriculum development, and college service.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in speech, speech communication, or communication studies; or master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in related fields.
• College-level teaching experience required.
• Strong knowledge of speech communication theory and pedagogy.
• Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas) and instructional technology.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in public speaking, interpersonal and oral communication.
• Collaborate with department chair to design engaging course content and assess outcomes.
• Utilize Canvas and instructional technology for course delivery.
• Maintain office hours and accurate grade/attendance records.
• Participate in college service and professional development.
