Job summary

Holy Childhood is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide programming to students with varying abilities in line with NYS Education standards and individual IEPs. You will implement Alternate Achievement Standards and assess progress, tailoring instructional strategies to each student’s needs.

The role requires NYS Special Education Certification and knowledge of NYS Alternate Standards, Assessments, and IEPs.

Qualifications

NYS Special Education Certification.
Knowledge of NYS Alternative Achievement Standards and Assessments, IEPs.

Responsibilities

Develop lesson plans and activities based on Alternate Achievement Standards.
Implement and administer NYS Alternate Assessment for grades 3-8.
Evaluate and assess the academic and social skills of students.
Implement current IEP for assigned students and develop draft IEP for following school year.
Create quarterly progress monitoring.
Collect, analyze, and report using data collection processes, including behavior data.
Supervise paraprofessionals assigned to work in their classroom.
Provide efficient system for addressing the needs of students and implementing individualized interventions.
Select, develop, and implement appropriate materials.
