Job summary

CASEY COUNTY BOARD OF EDUCATION is seeking a dedicated Teacher, Special Education to provide individualized instruction and supports to students with disabilities. The role emphasizes collaboration with families, multi-disciplinary teams, and alignment with IEPs to promote academic and social development.

The position requires a state-appropriate Special Education credential, and experience implementing evidence-based practices within the IDEA framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or meets EPSB requirements.
• Appropriate Kentucky Department of Education Administrative certification and a valid teaching certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students in a positive learning environment.
• Employ special educational strategies and techniques to develop sensory, language, cognition, and memory.
• Instruct students in academic subjects using diverse techniques and multi-sensory approaches.
• Communicate with parents about progress and priorities for individualized education needs.
• Confer with parents and professionals to develop individualized education programs (IEPs).
• Maintain accurate student records and progress monitoring per district policies.
