Job summary

Parkwood Primary School in Warner Robins, GA, seeks a Special Education Interrelated Teacher to provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities, implementing IEPs in collaboration with the school team.

The educator will work under the supervision of the principal, maintain student records, communicate with families, and ensure compliance with state and system policies while delivering the curriculum.

Qualifications

• Education and/or Experience: Must have a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Education. Advance degree a plus.
• Certificate or License Required: Valid Georgia professional teaching certificate in the assigned teaching field.
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Mathematical Skills: Basic arithmetic; ability to interpret data as needed in an instructional setting.
• Reasoning Ability: Apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions.
• Technical Ability: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact with administrators, teachers, staff, students, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, monitors and reviews the IEP of each student on the caseload, at least annually.
• Maintains and organizes student records and progress.
• Communicates with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.
• Collaborates with school administrators, special support personnel, and colleagues.
• Maintains lesson plans and implements designated curriculum as per IEP.
• Creates a positive, safe learning environment and manages student behavior.
