The role involves developing engaging lessons, assessing progress, and promoting immersive language experiences within a standards-aligned curriculum.

The ideal candidate holds a Spanish-related degree, state teaching certification, and experience at middle or high school levels, with a commitment to equity and community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in Spanish.
• Experience teaching Spanish at middle school or high school.
• Proficiency in Spanish and understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures.
• Clearances: FBI fingerprints, PA state background check, child abuse history clearance, and a physical examination.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement engaging Spanish lesson plans aligned with state and national standards.
• Teach Spanish language skills across multiple proficiency levels.
• Integrate Spanish-speaking cultures into the curriculum and organize cultural activities.
• Assess student progress using formal and informal methods and provide feedback.
• Use diverse teaching methods and multimedia to engage students in immersion.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and stay current with language teaching standards.
• Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and program updates.
