Job summary

Meeting Street in Providence, RI seeks a full-time Spanish Teacher to design and deliver developmentally appropriate instruction for diverse learners. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, Spanish, world languages, or closely related field.
• Valid Rhode Island World Languages Teacher certification or eligibility.
• Strong Spanish-language proficiency and proficiency-based instruction knowledge.
• Ability to plan differentiated instruction and assess language growth.
• Physically able to supervise and assist students as required.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging Spanish instruction aligned with Rhode Island's World Languages Curriculum Framework and applicable school curriculum expectations.
• Plan an instructional progression with measurable learning outcomes building communication, culture, and language proficiency.
• Provide opportunities to listen, speak, read, and write in Spanish with authentic language experiences appropriate to grade and proficiency.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, related service providers, and families to implement IEP/504 accommodations within the world-language program.
• Use inclusive, culturally responsive strategies valuing students' home languages and experiences.
• Develop an age-appropriate world-language program with the Head of School and faculty.
• Create individualized learning goals, enrichment activities, and flexible groupings.
• Support students pursuing other world languages by helping set goals and monitor progress.
• Use approved digital tools as support, not replacements for teacher-led instruction.
• Review alternative language-learning options with school leadership.
