Job summary

Wilkes County Schools is seeking a dedicated TEACHER to plan, organize and present instruction that supports students' educational and social development. You will deliver district-approved curriculum, adapt materials, and foster a positive learning environment across diverse learners.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with NC licensure in the assigned grades and areas. The district offers a benefits package and a local 5% salary supplement along with standard state and local benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree including all courses to meet credential requirements.
• Valid North Carolina license in the grade levels and areas assigned.

Responsibilities

• Provides learning experiences and teaches the course of study prescribed by the District approved curriculum.
• Develops and uses instructional materials suitable for verbal and/or visual instruction of students with a wide range of maturity.
• Provides individual and group instruction designed to meet individual needs and motivate students.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student control to achieve effective participation.
• Evaluates academic and social growth of students and keeps records.
• Communicates with parents through a variety of means.
• Holds parent conferences to discuss progress and interprets the school program.
• Identifies student needs and cooperates with staff to help solve health, attitude and learning problems.
• Creates an effective learning environment with displays and centers.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service education.
• Participates in committees and student activities.
• Performs other related work as required.
