Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan individually or cooperatively a program of study that meets students' needs, interests, and abilities.
• Assist in establishing department or grade-level curriculum objectives and develop plans for implementation and evaluation.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to students’ maturity and interests.
• Guide learning toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
• Employ instructional methods and materials suitable for meeting objectives.
• Assess student progress and provide regular updates as required.
• Diagnose learning strengths and weaknesses and involve District specialists as needed.
• Counsel with colleagues, students, and parents regularly.
• Support school policies and discipline rules; maintain classroom order and appropriate behavior.
• Plan and supervise assignments for support staff and volunteers; evaluate effectiveness.
• Use technology in teaching and the learning process.
• Maintain accurate records and reports as required by law and policy.
