Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must be certified, qualified and highly qualified as defined by the Course Code(s) assigned.
• Ability to work cooperatively with parents, school districts and agencies in providing services to students.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with students, teams and groups.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the position.
• Bilingual/biliterate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement instruction that adheres to district philosophy, goals and objectives.
• Create purposeful lesson plans with effective teaching strategies and time on task.
• Plan and implement a program of study meeting individual student needs.
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning with appropriate strategies.
• Provide progress and interim reports and prepare substitute materials as needed.
• Supervise students and coordinate with paraprofessionals, tutors, and volunteers.
• Communicate the positive aspects of the school program to the public.
• Continue professional growth through workshops and advanced coursework.
