Job summary

Museum of Science Inc is seeking an Outreach Educator to deliver engaging live science performances and programs across South Florida. You will work with the STEM Learning Manager to design programs aligned to the STEM Challenge for middle and high school students.

You'll present on topics across chemistry, astronomy, physics, earth sciences, biology, and more, while maintaining excellent customer service and coordinating with schools, libraries, and community centers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2–3 years of related experience in education/outreach.
• Background in sciences and interest in health, astronomy, physics, biology.
• Theatrical or presentation experience is a plus.
• Experience with children, youth or families in informal learning environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver live science performances and classroom activities at schools and libraries.
• Lead STEM Challenge-related programs with teachers and field trips.
• Travel to outreach destinations and manage setup/takedown of materials.
• Report guest feedback to improve show quality.
• Maintain excellent customer service and outreach communications.
• Work weekends/holidays and non-traditional hours as needed.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to run outreach programs.
