Job summary

Henrico County Public Schools seeks substitute teachers to provide instruction at the assigned schools. You will implement teacher plans when available and adapt lesson delivery to diverse learners, maintaining a positive classroom climate.

Assignments vary daily from short to long term. You will assess student learning, use district curriculum, integrate technology, communicate with parents and staff, and uphold safety standards while supporting student achievement.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 60 semester hours of college credit or 2 years experience working with children.
• Must complete Child Abuse and Neglect Recognition and Intervention training.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruction to students in the assigned school and adapts lesson delivery to diverse learners.
• Implements or collaborates on lesson plans and differentiates strategies to instruct students at all levels.
• Maintains order and manages behavior in the classroom, and assesses student learning using multiple tools.
• Communicates regularly with parents, administration, and staff as needed.
• Collaborates with faculty in planning and delivering instruction and integrates technology to support learning.
