Job summary

Cary Academy is seeking a Day Substitute to support the academic program by delivering lessons in the absence of the regular teacher and maintaining a positive classroom environment that fosters student learning.

The role requires implementing teacher-provided lesson plans, managing a 1:1 computing environment, and collaborating with staff to uphold school policies and equity values. A bachelor’s degree is required with at least one year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides punctual and dependable substitute coverage for classes in both Middle and Upper School.
• Implements lesson plans left by teachers ensuring instructional time is preserved and students participate.
• Adheres to school policies and works collaboratively with colleagues.
• Supports diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism work and completes administrative tasks per school policies.
• Meets regular, predictable attendance expectations.
