Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer for a short-term substitute role in our schools & HR department. The position supports middle and high school athletic programs, providing injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services in collaboration with physicians and coaches.

The role requires a CAATE-accredited degree, active NATA certification, Illinois licensure and current AED/CPR certification, with duties spanning all athletic events and emergency care as needed.

Qualifications

• CAATE-accredited athletic training program required
• Current AED and CPR certification
• Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers exam passed

Responsibilities

• Administers first aid and provides immediate evaluation and care for athletic injuries
• Evaluates injuries and supervises rehabilitation programs
• Prepares student athletes for practices and events with taping, wrapping, and protective techniques
• Coordinates with physicians and healthcare professionals regarding injury treatment and return-to-participation considerations
• Maintains confidential student health and athletic training records
• Educates athletes, parents, and coaches on injury prevention and safety

Education

Bachelor’s degree

5 years experience in athletic training

NATA Certification

Illinois State Licensure
