Job summary

South Shore Stars, Inc. in Quincy seeks a detail-oriented School Age Group Leader to support developmentally appropriate activities and family communication. You will work with the Center Director to implement goals, maintain order, and engage children in enriching experiences.

The role requires a High School Diploma, DEEC qualifications, and flexibility for school vacation days. A MA 7D license is preferred. This full-time, year-round position reports to the Center Director.

Qualifications

• Meet DEEC qualifications for School Age Group Leader.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children in a formal setting.
• Willing to obtain MA 7D Driving License.
• Flexible schedule including full days during school vacations.
• Ability to set clear expectations and limits for children.
• High energy, warm and nurturing personality.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement program goals and objectives with Center Director.
• Develop strong relationships with each child.
• Plan age-appropriate activities and field trips.
• Establish classroom behavior limits and order.
• Communicate with parents about children's needs and progress.
• Assist with keeping the center clean and organized.
• Drive Center van to transport children (MA 7D license if able).
• Assist with menu planning, food preparation and purchases.
• Maintain records.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Develop annual evaluation goals and training plan.
• All other assigned tasks.
