Job summary

Erie Neighborhood House is seeking a School-Age Educator to implement our 5–12 year old program under the Site Director. You will assist in curriculum planning, supervise daily activities, and document child progress while maintaining safety and licensing standards.

You will collaborate with families and teachers, participate in trainings, and help uphold the program’s accreditation. The role adapts between part-time school-year hours and full-time summer hours, commensurate with funding.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred; or 45 college hours with 6 in child development or 30 hours with 9 in child development plus 1560 clock hours experience.

Responsibilities

• Implements the School Age Program under supervision of Site Director.
• Works with 5–12 year olds (or 5–6 at Center Site) and participates in curriculum planning.
• Maintains records (sign-out sheets, attendance, education files, notes).
• Attends staff meetings, trainings, and workshops; supports health and safety, sanitation, and OSHA standards.
• Develops relationships with parents, teachers, and children; communicates at conferences and meetings.
• Ensures DCFS ratio compliance and aligns with DHS and accreditation requirements.

Education

Associate’s Degree preferred, or 45 hours of college courses with 6 hours in child development OR 30 hours with 9 hours in child development plus 1560 clock hours experience
