Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an associate to act as the primary customer contact, assist with plan-o-grams and programs, stock merchandise, and protect company assets while maximizing profitability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking and displaying goods, assisting customers, and operating the cash register. You will help with ordering using scanners and keep the store clean and organized to support teamwork and policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and stock shelves; rotate merchandise.
• Restock recovered items and assist customers in locating products.
• Operate cash register, ring up purchases and bag items; provide change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners as needed.
• Help maintain storefront cleanliness and setup sidewalk displays when required.
• Follow company policies and procedures and greet customers.
