Job summary

Birkmeyer General Contractors is seeking a Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead onsite work for fast-paced QSR, restaurant, retail, TI, and ground-up projects in the Phoenix area. The role requires active field leadership, coordination of trades, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

Ideal candidates walk the job, maintain documentation, and push projects to completion while building strong subcontractor relationships and ensuring safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience.
• Experience managing QSR, restaurant, retail, TI, or ground-up projects.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Experience managing projects from $50k to $2.5 million.
• Strong understanding of sequencing, trade coordination, inspections, schedules, safety, and closeout.
• Proficiency with Procore for logs, photos, and field communication.
• Comfort using Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations for commercial QSR, restaurant, retail, TI, and ground-up projects.
• Coordinate onsite subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, inspections, and project schedules.
• Manage tight 8–12 week project timelines and keep trades aligned.
• Maintain daily logs, photos, field documentation, and project communication in Procore.
• Walk jobsites daily to verify quality, safety, schedule progress, and adherence to plans.
• Resolve field conflicts and sequencing issues with Project Managers.
• Coordinate municipal inspections and support timely approvals.
• Manage punch lists, closeout items, and client turnover.
