Job summary

Rochester Regional Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to join the Therapies-PRLC team in Rochester, NY. This per diem role supports patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, documents visits, and assists with discharge planning.

Responsibilities include gait training, assistive devices instruction, safe transfers, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes. Requires NYS PTA license, AS degree, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.
• Reads, writes, and speaks English.
• Demonstrates computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Complete and document patient care within agency standards, including visit notes and orders.
• Record progress and goal achievement in charting.
• Implement treatment programs and provide instruction on adaptive equipment.
• Confers with Physical Therapist, physician, and team regarding patient response.
• Provide gait and ambulation training and instruction on assistive devices.
• Assist with safe transfers and discharge planning; educate patient and family.
